NearBuzz (“we”) operates nearbuzz.app and the NearBuzz apps. This policy explains what we collect when you browse events in the UK and how we use it. We do not sell personal data.
What we collect
- Account: email address if you sign in with a magic link. Guest use may create an anonymous identifier.
- Location: approximate location or a home postcode you enter, so we can show nearby events. Location is optional; the site defaults to London if you decline.
- Saved events: events you save or mark interested, tied to your account.
- Host submissions: name of the event, date, venue, and the email you give us so we can review a listing.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP address, browser) from our hosting provider (Vercel) and database (Supabase).
Event listings
Event titles, images, times, and ticket links come from public providers (including Ticketmaster, Skiddle, DICE, Eventbrite, Resident Advisor, and venue sites). Those pages are not your personal data. Outbound “Get tickets” links may include an affiliate tag so we can attribute a referral.
How we use data
To run the service, show events near you, remember saves, review host submissions, keep the site secure, and improve listings. We do not use your email for marketing unless you opt in later.
Sharing
We use processors who host the product: Vercel (website), Supabase (database and auth), and Expo/EAS if you install a native build. Ticket purchases happen on the provider’s site, not on NearBuzz. We share data if the law requires it.
Retention and rights
We keep account and saved-event data while your account exists. You can ask for a copy, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold. UK GDPR rights apply, including the right to complain to the ICO.
